Le Royal Hotels & Resorts - Beirut is chosen as the Leading Hotel in Lebanon, while its chefs win numerous awards for their outstanding gastronomic accomplishments and fusion of flavors.

Being on the top is a great challenge, and Le Royal Hotels & Resorts - Beirut has once again proven its worthiness as a premier luxury destination in 2011. For the third year in a row, the property has been chosen at the World Travel Awards as Lebanon's Leading Hotel, as voted by travel agents and travelers worldwide.
The World Travel Awards acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence within the global travel and tourism industry, and have proudly proven Le Royal Hotels & Resorts - Beirut's primacy in Lebanon. (Noteworthy too is the prize gathered by Le Royal Hotels & Resorts - Beirut's sister property in Amman for Jordan's Leading Business Hotel).

In the past, Beirut has won prizes for its rooms and spa. This year the focus was on its culinary excellence as well. Under the expert guidance of Executive Chef Souhail El Ghazal and Executive Sous Chef Dany Nakhleh, ten young and bright chefs from Le Royal Hotels & Resorts - Beirut's kitchens competed recently in the region's most important culinary show, the Salon Culinaire at Horeca. As in previous years, the enterprising chefs scooped a number of prize medals for their creations, from sandwiches to Sushi, displaying their utmost in creativity, color, presentation and hygiene.

The recent event bestowed upon Miled Attieh a Gold Medal for his seafood platter, which featured two mouthwatering terrines and four original side dishes that craftily combine seafood, vegetables and condiments. A Gold Medal in the Live Sushi competition was given to Crisanto Tabunot, for his fusion-led sushi with a delicately spiced duck breast filling.

Very noteworthy as well was the Silver Medal won by Charbel Hashash for his six-course set menu exploiting novel recipes and exceptional technique. Another Silver Medal was won by Elia Kaady in the live sandwich competition, which showcased a fusion of Lebanese and French elements including filet of fish, grilled eggplant sauce, garlic and more. Last but not least, four different Bronze Medals in sandwiches, cold canapés, cupcakes and Arabic Sweets added to Le Royal Hotels & Resorts - Beirut's gastronomic superiority and won the hearts of international judges.

Whether on the culinary front at home or the luxury front in the eyes of the world, Le Royal Hotels & Resorts - Beirut has once again proven its standing as - to put it simply - choice number one!
